Intuition

                Intuition and energy . . . . . . . . . . . .  How do we tap into our intuition?

Most of us experience ‘gut feelings' we can't explain, such as instantly dislike, or connection, or the snap opinion we have on something. Now researchers at Leeds University and Heartmath say these feelings are our awareness and they are real and we should take note of our hunches and use them to our advantage.

Developing strategic thinking capacity is not enough in today's environment. Our thinking can be restricted by the fact that we recognize only those things for which we have a frame of reference, mental maps or categories.  To function in the realm of business today we need more than strategic thinking because our frame of reference, mental maps and categories delineate and confine what we perceive to be possible.

Strategic Thinking engages a lot of attention and intention. Intention is the idea that there could be an obstacle that you have to get over, so you have to use a lot of force and effort to conquer it. Attention is the point of view that you actually have barriers to overcome, so you had better focus on it.  Both attention and intention indicate that there is a wall of adversity that stands between you and what you think it should be, that you have to overcome.

On the contrary, Strategic Awareness that incorporates intuition is beyond the notion of intention, attention or attraction. Strategic Awareness is the ability to perceive, know, be and receive which allows executives to connect what is happening at the present with the infinite possibilities. The art of Strategic Awareness is in the ability to perceive the potential possibilities and the insight to know the consequence for attaining or not attaining those possibilities and the ability to create strategy to make it happen. With Strategic Awareness executives are able to connect the big picture of the new era of business with the practicalities of what to do about it, the fusion of strategy with conscious awareness.

Trusting your awareness may help you to make better decisions
than thinking hard, a study suggests.

According to a team led by Professor Gerard Hodgkinson of the Centre for Organisational Strategy, Learning and Change at Leeds University Business School, what we call intuition or gut feeling is the result of the way our brains store, process and retrieve information on a subconscious level and so is a real psychological phenomenon which needs further study to help us harness its potential.

Dr. Rollin McCraty, Director of Research for the Institute of HeartMath in Boulder Creek, California, directed a recent scientific study that examined physiological indicators of intuitive perception. The study sought to test whether we somehow receive information about a future event before it happens, and, if so, to determine where and when in the brain and body the intuitive information is processed. HeartMath researchers found that we can actually be aware of an event five to seven seconds before it happens. Read more about the research on intuition>>
